Millie D. Vonvolkenburg Santone, 63, of Erie, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at UPMC Hamot, after a brief illness.
She was born September 16, 1950, in Oil City, Pa., a daughter of the late Jesse and Anna Mae Martin Vonvolkenburg. She lived in Erie most of her life.
Millie was a Ladies' Auxiliary member of American Legion 793, VFW
Post 470, Erie Maennerchor Club and Siebenbuerger Club.
She enjoyed dancing, gardening, bowling, golfing, shopping, and was a passionate photographer.
Millie was a dedicated wife, mother, Nana and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Graham.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Pat J. Santone of Erie; two daughters, Kirsten I. Baldwin (Jason) of Shreveport, La., and Krystal A. Thomas of Marion, Ohio; six sons, John P. Santone (Alesha) of Omaha, Neb., Patsy J. Santone (Christine) of Willoughby, Ohio, Paul M. Santone (Kristen) of Mentor, Ohio, Nicholas P. Santone (Jessica) of Omaha, Neb., Michael N. Santone (Shelly) of Eastlake, Ohio and Matthew A. Thomas (Jennifer) of Erie; three sisters, Cathy Beliveau of Erie, Helen Vonvolkenburg-Greider of Erie and Debbie Ross of Manchester, Tenn., and five brothers, Ray, Robert, Delbert and Jesse Vonvolkenburg, all of Erie, and Dana Vonvolkenburg of Belvidere, Ill. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at Saint George RC Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
