Robert J. "Bob" Filipkowski, age 73, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Neptune, N.J., went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2014, at home, surrounded by his devoted family. Bob's truly optimistic and loving spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of those lives he touched. He will always be remembered! Bob was born in Erie, Pa., July 26, 1940, to Ann and Joseph Filipkowski.

He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Edward, Richard and Ralph.

Bob was a graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School in Erie, and additional course work at Michigan State University. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Filipkowski and six children: Brian Filipkowski (Fe), Kim Tarbotton, Mark Filipkowski (Cathy), Robert Filipkowski (Martha), Laurie Barnes, Greg Filipkowski; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, of whom he was so proud; brother, Christopher Filipkowski; and many nieces and nephews.
