Walter Charles "Buzz" Buzard Obituary

Walter "Buzz" Charles Buzard went to be with his Lord on June 28, 2014.

Buzz was born in Lawsonham, Pa., to Augustus and Della Rose Buzard, on July 1, 1927. He attended school in the area and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1944.

Buzz married Carol Jean Wetzel in Knox, Pa., on October 10, 1953. They moved to Erie, Pa., where Buzz worked at the American Meter Company, Lords Manufacturing, and Pennsylvania Electric, with many part-time jobs along the way. He retired when PENELEC closed the State Street Plant. Then he and Carol Jean were free to travel so they joined SOWERS – Servants On Wheels Ever Ready – and worked at many different locations from Florida to Texas. After about ten years of missions work, they settled down again in North East, Pa., where they lived until 2011, when they moved to Bristow, Va., to be close to their son's family.

Buzz was preceded in death by his immediate family: parents and brothers, Raymond and Merle; and sisters, Ruth, Dee, Ann, and Irene.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Jean; his son, Gregg (Debbie) of Bristow, Va.; and his daughter, Pam (Dale) Faulhaber of Clearwater, Fla. His grandchildren include Adam (Allison) Buzard of Nashville, Tenn., Jamie (Jason) Faulhaber of North East, Pa., and Kyle Faulhaber of Clearwater, Fla. His great-grandchildren are Bryton and Chloe of North East, Pa.

The Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Marvin Hutchison at Missionary Alliance Church, 81 E. Main St., North East, Pa. It will be held July 31, 2014, at 3:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Grace Life Community Church, 9560 Linton Hall Road, Bristow, VA 20136.
