George M. “Joe” Henne, Jr. George M. “Joe” Henne, Jr., 90 of 2104 Barbosa Ct., The Villages, Fla. died Friday evening at home. He was born in Titusville, Pa. Nov. 15, 1916, son of George M. and Jeanette Kraffert Henne. In 1938 he was employed by City Service Oil Company and later by The Quaker State Pipeline Division. He enlisted in the Aviation Cadet Program in WW II and flew as an Army Air Force Pilot until his discharge in 1946. After another period of pipelining, he flew for Erie Foundry Company, (now Erie Press System) and later for James D. Berry of Quaker State. As a golfer, Joe won the Titusville Golf Championship 8 times along with numerous tournaments. Locally he played football with the Warren Red Jackets. In later years, he enjoyed tennis and bicycling. Survivors include his wife Merrilee, The Villages, Fla., brother John of Titusville, Pa., daughters Jeanne Ethridge (David) Centerville, Pa., Nancy Banner (Arnold) Mt. Vernon, Maine and Judith Depew (Henry) Tallahassee, Fla. and step son, John Malatesta Erie, Pa., seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
