Joseph Sparrow Obituary
Mr. Sparrow died Monday, Nov. 8, in Richmond, Texas.
Born May 8, 1925 in Goldsboro, N.C., he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Yvonnia "Joy" Harper Sparrow. He was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church and Needville United Methodist Church in Needville, Texas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring after 27 years of service. Mr. Sparrow was a Mason and 32-degrees Scottish Rites Shriner.
Survivors include: daughter Kim (John) Mikolas of Richmond, Texas, son Kelly Sparrow of Abbeville, grandchildren Bradley and April Mikolas, Jessica and Andrew Sparrow, sister Gladys Cobb of N.C.
Active pallbearers are Steve Thurman, Tim Harper, Bobby Harper, Brad Harper, Bradley Mikolas and Andrew Sparrow.

Kim......your Dad indeed had a special bond with my Mother and as a child I can remember his calls to her at Christmas every year and I can remember meeting your Mother many years ago. Mother and all of us greatly appreciated you bringing your Dad to Mother's birthday party in Tarboro several years ago and allowing us to spend time with him. He certainly loved Mother and she certainly loved him all of his life. As a lifelong member of the military we all owe him enormous thanks for helping keep us safe and able to enjoy freedom. You all should be enormously proud of him as I am sure you are. God bless him, you, Kelly, and your families. Parks Cobb
