A host of angels gathered together singing songs and praises, as they welcomed one of their own home.
That is the celebration in heaven for the life lived by Sally Ann Moore born Jan. 17, 1939, to Kenneth and Sara DeRoss in Meadville, Pa. She was the second born of siblings Nancy, Jim, Chuck and Jake. She ran towards life and all it had to offer with faith and courage.
Joining her on this journey was her friend and husband of 56 years, Bill Moore. Together they graced the earth with four wonderful daughters; Jackie, Linda, Becky and Mary Ellen. She shared her tireless energy with those around her, encouraging not only with words, but with her actions as she earned her GED and entered college in concert with her youngest daughter, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology.
She filled her life with good works serving in several positions of her lifelong church, the Harmonsburg United Methodist, as executive director of Penn Lakes Girl Scout Council, executive director of the Green House (shelter of battered women), and from a family counselor to executive director for The Center for Families in Change. She retired and moved to Eufaula, in the fall of 1994. She kept busy as a psychologist by opening a private practice and later as the GED Instructor at the Georgetown Lifelong Learning Center in Georgetown.
It was during this time that her faith and courage were tested once again as she prepared to do battle against cancer finally emerging as a winner in the end. Health concerns limited her physically, but not mentally as she began to face new daily challenges of life as a survivor. That same faith saw her through the loss of her beloved Bill.
Finally on Nov. 10, she and Bill reunited. Together, again, they continue to watch over their girls and family from heaven. In peace and love, she leaves behind a legacy of memories that will continue to enrich the many lives she touched. In God's grace, she has placed you; in her heart, she keeps you and in heaven she will meet you.
