TANEYTOWN, MD Sandra L. Summers, 60, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Melvin "Jr." Summers for 38 years. Born May 26, 1952, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of Oneida V. (Humbert) Pittenturf Kepner of Gettysburg and the late Ray D. Pittenturf. Sandy was a 1970 Littlestown High School graduate and was employed with Littlestown Manufacturing and Lorien Nursing Home, Taneytown. In addition to her husband, Sandy is survived by a son, Troy A. Summers of Taneytown; brother, Robert D. Pittenturf of Littlestown; and two sisters, Linda R. Riegel of Littlestown and Joan L. Bair. Sandy was predeceased by sister, Jean E. Pittenturf, and brother, James W. Pittenturf. She was a member of FOE Aux. and VFW Aux., both of Littlestown, and an Aux. member of American Legion Post 120, Taneytown. Sandy like playing Bingo and portraying an elf for children at the Eagles' Christmas parties. Funeral service is Tuesday, December 18, at 11 a.m. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown, with The Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley, Bridge Pastor of Redeemer's U.C.C., Littlestown, officiating. Viewing is one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment is in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown. Contributuions in Sandy's name may be sent to Alpha Ambulance Fund, E. King St., Littlestown, PA 17340.
