Albert L. Luckenbaugh Sr.

HANOVER Albert L. Luckenbaugh, Sr., 85, entered into God's eternal care Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband of Vivian M.E. (Shull) Luckenbaugh, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Born June 3, 1928, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Catherine (Trayner) Luckenbaugh, Sr. He attended Eichelberger High School and continued to participate in school gatherings and reunions over the years. Albert served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Luckenbaugh retired after owning Luckenbaugh Construction for many years. In addition to his wife, Vivian, Albert is survived by his daughter, Debra C. Eyer-Scott of Hanover; his son, Albert L. Luckenbaugh, Jr. of York; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Clyde B. Luckenbaugh; five brothers, Hugh, Donald, Wesley, Earl, and Gordon Luckenbaugh; and his sister, Marcella Helwig. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. David L. Delong officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Full military honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
