Janet E. Cover

HANOVER Janet E. Cover, 77, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, November 23, 2012, at Homewood at Plum Creek after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was the loving wife of James E. Cover, Jr., with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on November 29, 2012. She was born March 17, 1935, in Hanover, the daughter of the late Arthur and M. Helen (Sanders) Hippensteel. Mrs. Cover was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover. She enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit close friends, family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren, and she had a great love of animals. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. Sloman of McSherrystown; son, Ricky A. Cover and his wife, Wendy of Hanover; brother, Donald A. Hippensteel and his wife, Peg of Abbottstown; grandchildren, Travis A. Sloman of New Oxford, Bryan A. Cover of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Kristen S. Cover of Hanover; and an aunt, Mary Lookenbill of Hanover. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. Brenda K. Marin officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A second viewing will be on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
