Lorraine V. Spangler

THOMASVILLE Lorraine V. (Strasbaugh) Spangler, 82, was welcomed home to the open arms of her Savior on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Normandie Ridge in York. She was the loving wife of Philip E. Spangler, who passed away in 1999. Lorraine was born in Jackson Township, on January 16, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Katie Mae (Strasbaugh) Lauchman. She graduated from Spring Grove High School class of 1949. She was a longtime member of Shiloh United Church of Christ and the Spring Grove Historical and Preservation Society. She is survived by her sons, Michael P. Spangler and his wife, Shirley of Spring Grove, and William J. Spangler and his wife, Kimberly of Hanover; her daughter, Elizabeth A. Walker and her husband, Gary of York; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Roth's United Church of Christ, 6417 Church Road, Spring Grove, with the Rev. David B. Danneberger and Dr. Michael C. Walker officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service next to her husband in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
