Pastor Barry E. Becker

HANOVER Pastor Barry E. Becker, 69, entered into God's eternal care on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Hanover Hospital. Born May 13, 1943 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Carrie (Riley) Becker. Barry was the loving husband of Darlene M. (Nace) Becker, to whom he was married for 50 years. Barry was a 1961 graduate of South Western High School. After completing two years with the International School of Preaching, he devoted his life to spreading the Gospel of Jesus with the Church of Christ of Hanover for 35 years. In addition to his wife Darlene, Barry is survived by four children, Mark E. Becker of Erie, Chris A. Becker of Hanover, Rebecca A. Fleming of Hanover, Jennifer L. Blake of Warrenton, Miss.; 10 grandchildren, Benjamin A., Micah N., Katelyn M. and Emma E. Fleming, Levi J. and Cole C. Becker, Ibrahim D., Rahamatu M., Musa B. and Imani C. Blake; one brother, Thomas Becker of Glen Rock; and his sister, Jean Altland of New Oxford. A service to celebrate and remember Barry's life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of Christ of Hanover, 1560 Wanda Dr., Hanover, with his good friend, Lee Hodges officiating. Viewings and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Barry for the continued care of his precious wife, Darlene, to the Church of Christ of Hanover, 1560 Wanda Dr., Hanover, PA 17331.
