Raymond M. Weaver

NEW OXFORD Raymond M. "Twisty" Weaver, 83, entered into God's eternal care Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Martin) Weaver, to whom he was married 59 years. Born January 6, 1929, in McSherrystown, he was the son of the late Henry F. and Genevieve (Smith) Weaver. Twisty was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica in Hanover and a life member of Irishtown Fire Co. He was retired from York International after 37 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one daughter, Cindy Sneeringer and her husband, Jim of Downingtown; two sons, James Weaver and his wife, Deb of Irishtown, and Raymond F. Weaver of New Oxford; eight siblings, Charles, Lester, Donald, and Carroll Weaver, Rita Storm, Julia Griswall, Margaret Dennis, and Loretta Laser; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends and relatives will be received Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with prayers at 8 p.m. Burial and service will be private.
