Rhoda L. Staley

WESTMINSTER, MD Rhoda Louise Staley, 91, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul W. Staley Born February 8, 1922, in Mifflinburg, she was the daughter of the late Zella Atherton and Truman Roadarmel. Before retiring, she worked for Kessler Shoe. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 897, American Legion Post #31 Ladies Auxiliary, and AARP. She was a member of Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ. She enjoyed her dog, Doodles. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Pat Finn-Keller of Hanover; grandchildren, Heidi Lombardi, Stephen, Kenneth, and Kevin Finn, all of Hanover, Paul Finn of York, and Scott Finn of West Palm Beach, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Robin Lombardi, Justin, Stephen II, Brent, Chelsea, Alex, Marisa, Amanda, McKenna, Brooklyn, and Maleena Finn; and great-great-granddaughter, Anberlin Weaver. She was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Hutson; a brother, Truman Roadarmel; and first husband, William LaRay Petry, who was killed in WWII. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 254 E. Main St., Westminster, Md., with the Rev. Tony Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
