Richard E. Parks

YORK Richard Eugene Parks, 63, passed away on November 22, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Patsy Ann (Ruth) Parks, together they shared over 33 years of marriage. Dick was born in York on September 1, 1949, the son of the late Dorothy I. (Rabenstine) and Kenneth E. Parks Sr. He graduated from West York High School class of 1967 and from York College with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He worked for his family business, Parks Truck and Trailer Sales, and for other accounting firms and businesses in York County. He was an avid bowler, loved NASCAR and Penn State Football. He was also a longtime member of St. Peter Lischey's United Church of Christ in Spring Grove. He was also a longtime member of the Viking Athletic Association. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Ann (Ruth) Parks; his brother, Kenneth E. Parks Jr. and his wife, Karen of Windsor, his niece; four nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew. Following cremation, a Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 5 pm at St. Peter Lischey's UCC, 5671 Lischey's Church Rd., Spring Grove with the Rev. Sarah Rentzel Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 4 to 5 pm. Irwin-Beck Funeral Home and Cremation Service, P.C., Spring Grove, is in charge.
