Romaine C. Croft

HANOVER Romaine C. Croft, 87, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at her home. She was the wife of George E. Croft for 71 years. Born February 1, 1927, in Carroll County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Irvin W. and Esta Mae Bankert Sterner. In addition to her husband, Romaine is survived by a daughter, Georgia C. Blakeslee and husband, Wesley of Westminster, Md.; grandchildren, Jaime, Christopher, and Shaun; great-grandchildren, Scott, Declan, and Clare; and a sister, Delores Heltibridle of Hanover. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Shorb. Romaine was owner and operator of Modern Beauty Bar in Westminster. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Littlestown. Romaine loved gardening, flowers, painting, playing the piano and organ, and being with family and friends. Funeral service is Tuesday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God, Littlestown, with the Rev. Garry L. Sheaffer officiating. There will be no viewing, however family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Silver Run, Md.
