Stephen E. Murren

HANOVER Stephen E. Murren, 69, of Country View Acres, Hanover, entered into God's eternal care Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Hershey Medical Center. Born January 6, 1943, in Adams County, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Hilda R. (Wolfe) Murren. Steve retired from Mack Truck Inc. after 30 years of service and was a life-long farmer, owning and operating a 38 acre farm. He was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and AARP, an Honorary member of the McSherrystown Knights of Columbus and a life member of SAVES. Surviving are five brothers, Patrick F., Mark L. and Philip L. Murren, all of Hanover, David J. Murren and his wife, Rose of Edgegrove, Mike Murren and his wife, Kathy of McSherrystown; six nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Teresa Murren of McSherrystown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Annunciation Catholic Church, McSherrystown with the Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel officiating. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with prayers at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be two brothers, David and Mike Murren and four nephews, David Jr., Robert, John and James Murren.
