Treva L. Laughman

NEW OXFORD Treva L. Laughman, 92, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the Brethren Home. She was the loving wife of Ervin "Sparky" Laughman, who died December 30, 1984. She was born September 25, 1920, in Littlestown, the daughter of the late Willis F. and Pauline V. (Fink) Sterner. Mrs. Laughman worked at Whisler's Laundry, Hanover for many years as a shirt presser and later at SKF, Hanover as an assembler retiring in 1986. She was a member of Harvest Time Temple, Hanover and the National AARP. She is survived by her children, Irvin Arter and his wife, Jerrie, Hanover, Rev. Donald Arter and his wife, Sally, Parkesburg, Janice Beaver and her husband, Robert, New Oxford and David Laughman and his wife, Mitzi, Taneytown, Md.; sister, Edith Smith, Hanover; brother, Harold E. Sterner, Catonsville, Md.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Treva L. Laughman will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.
