Walter J. Danner

HANOVER Walter J. Danner, born May 23, 1933, died April 30, 2014, at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 7 days. He was a member of the Hanover Mennonite Church. He was a lifetime farmer. Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late Richard E. and the late Annie E. (Ness) Danner. He is survived by his wife, M. Lois (Shank) Danner; seven children, David W. and his wife Jane of Hanover, Philip R. and his wife Lois Ann of Hanover, Nevin R. and his wife Robin of Hanover, Ruth Ann and her husband Roger Eby of Littlestown, Lois Ellen and her husband Edward Sensenig of Shippensburg, Ethan M. and his wife Joy of Paraguay, South America; Mark E. and his wife Laurel of York Springs; 42 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Wolff and Elizabeth Herr, both of Hanover; and a sister-in-law, Dorcas (Reed) Danner. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth; a brother, James; three grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, John Wolff and Bradley Herr. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Bairs Hanover Mennonite Church on York Road. There will be a viewing held at Hanover Mennonite Church, 561 Broadway, on Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The brethren Elvin Rohrer, Lynn Martin, Timothy Dougherty, and Dale Rudolph will be officiating.
