GREENCASTLE Anna Sophie (Stewart) Hilbert, 74, passed away on March 18, 2013, in her home, after a brief illness. Born February 22, 1939, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Roscoe R. and Helena E. (Klaas) Stewart. She lived in her home on Coseytown Road since March, 1966. She and her husband, Ray F. Hilbert were married in 1960 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Hanover. They were married over 45 years before his death February 7 2006. Anna was a homemaker. She was strong in her faith, regularly attending Otterbein United Brethren Church, Greencastle and teaching Awana. She volunteered at Camp Joy El; was a member of M.O.P.S. and enjoyed tax season, when she would work for Jackson and Hewitt, Greencastle. After her husband's death, she participated in several widow's support groups. An independent and creative woman, she enjoyed making personalized cards for family and friends, and liked trying her own version of new recipes, having family and friends be her taste- testers. She is survived by a son, Ray A. "Tony" Hilbert and his fiance', Misty Schroeder, both of Chambersburg; a daughter, Alison Reiff and her husband, Daniel, of Greenwood, Maine; two step-grandchildren, Michalla and Aaron Schroeder; her siblings: Rich Stewart and his wife, Emily, Margaret Jacoby-Lingg and her husband, John, Fred Stewart and Karl Stewart and several nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 in Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Rd. Greencastle, PA, officiated by Pastor Lee Nunemaker. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle.
