ABBOTTSTOWN Barbara Ann (McDannell) Shultz, 76, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Harry T. Shultz, Sr., her husband of 54 years. Born August 24, 1936, in Gettysburg, Barbara was a daughter of the late Howard J. and Catherine (Laughman) McDannell. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Hanover. Barbara enjoyed planting and taking care of her flower garden and cooking and spending time with her family. A strong faith based follower, Barbara's favorite bible verse was Isaiah 41:13 For I, Jehovah your God, am grasping your right hand, the One saying to you, "Do not be afraid. I myself will help you." In addition to her husband Harry, she is survived by five children, Julie McIntosh, New Oxford, Pam Miller, McSherrystown, Cindy Shultz, Abbottstown, Harry T. "Tom" Shultz, Jr., Hanover and Jackie Widman, Chesterfield, Va.; three siblings, Janet Beck, Gettysburg, Daniel McDannell, Orrtanna and Roger McDannell, New Oxford; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Gregory McDannell. A memorial service will be held for Barbara at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5 Paradise Ct., Hanover, PA 17331. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at the above address.
