HANOVER Charlotte A. E. Sachs, 94, entered into God's eternal care Friday, November 9, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Gettysburg. She was the wife of William J. Sachs, Sr., who died January 29, 1987. Born September 25, 1918, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of Edward E. and Anna B. (Blei) Klingelhofer. Charlotte was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. She was also active in Civil Defense during WWII. Surviving are three children, William J. Sachs, Jr. and his wife, Carole of Hanover, Christopher R. Sachs and his wife, Bernadette of Baltimore, Md., and Jo Ann C. Brannock and her husband, Frederick of Fulton, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Sachs of Bel Air, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Randall Edward David Sachs; and siblings, Eleanor Drautz, Edward, Marion, and Frederick Klingelhofer. A celebration of life service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with the Rev. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will be held privately.
