BIGLERVILLE Daniel L. May, 49, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was born Tuesday, June 4, 1963, in Hanover, the son of Donald May of Denver, Colo., and Robert and Rose (Klunk) Spurlock of McSherrystown. Daniel graduated from Hanover High School in 1982. He was employed by Hauser Orchards in Biglerville. He had formerly been employed by Daughters of Charity in Emmittsburg and Boyers Nursery in Biglerville. He was a member of Memorial Baptist in Gettysburg, where he and his wife Patti taught kindergarten Sunday school. He is survived by his wife, Patti M. (Mentzer) May, to whom he was married for 19 years. He is also survived by one daughter, Kaila G. May at home; three sons, Daniel L. May, Martin C. May, and Gabriel M. May, all at home; three sisters, Debra Fox and Ruth May, both of McSherrystown, and Teresa Freeman of Hanover; and two brothers, Robert May of Abbottstown and Shane Diehl of Florida. He was preceded in death by one son, Alexander J. May, who died October 6, 2005. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main St., Bendersville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, at Memorial Baptist Church 1096 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, with the Rev. Steve Baker officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville. A visitation will be held on Friday (today) from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. in Bendersville, and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 until time of services.
