Dennis L. Steger Obituary
EAST BERLIN Dennis L. Steger, 64, died Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Genesis Healthcare in Gettysburg. He was the husband of Carol J. (Baumgardner) Steger, his wife of 11 years. Dennis was born February 16, 1949, in Hanover, the son of Harry Steger of Littlestown, and the late Nevin C. and Frances J. (Garrett) Eline. He was a 1967 graduate of Littlestown High School, a 1968 graduate of Thompson Business School. He retired in 2005 after 26 years of service at York Wallcoverings and was also a retired firefighter and EMTB. He was also employed by Bell Socialization Services. Dennis was a member of Hanover First Church of God where he served as chairman of the medical emergency response team, and as an usher. He was a member of Lake Meade Fire & Rescue, Liberty Fire Co. #1 in East Berlin, Midway Fire Co., Cumberland Valley Fireman's Association, Adams County Volunteer Emergency Services Association, East Berlin V.F.W., and the Littlestown Eagles. Dennis was also an avid Penn State fan. In addition to his wife and father, Dennis is survived by two step daughters, Alicia M. Clingan and her husband Michael of Biglerville, and Amber M. Klinedinst and her husband Chad of Hanover; four grandchildren, Noah, Kaine, Aida, and Sophia Klinedinst all of Hanover; four sisters, Lisa A. Bortner and her husband Tony of Spring Grove, Jean L. Eline of Spring Grove, Sandi Steger-Coppersmith of Hanover, and Terri Lynn Caudill and her husband Will of Hanover; two brothers, Gregory A. Eline and his wife Katie of Abbottstown, and Jerry Steger of Thomasville; four nieces, Megan and Kimberlee Eline of Abbottstown, Amanda Bortner of Spring Grove, and Ashley Stevens of Hanover; a great-niece, Jazlynn Bortner of Spring Grove; and a great-nephew, Zac Bortner of Spring Grove. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Steger. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Ave, Hanover, with Pastor Jerry Shoap, Pastor Brian Markle, and Rev. Phil Nace officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Viewings will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
