GETTYSBURG Eileen M. Hill, 87, a long time resident of Gettysburg, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Gettysburg Hospital. Eileen was born August 11, 1925, in Ingalls, N.C., the daughter of the late C. C. (Carr) and Lois Dellinger Childs. Eileen's husband C. Kenneth Hill died in 1988. Mrs. Hill was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Gettysburg. During WWII she worked at the Blue Ridge Rubber Factory in Littlestown, and later for a number of years she was employed at the Gettysburg Hospital. She was a member of the Barlow Homemakers Association. Eileen enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading the newspapers and feeding her birds but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Hill is survived by a son Phillip C. Hill and his wife Melody of Gettysburg; a daughter, Claudia E. McGough and her husband, Timothy of Gettysburg; three grandchildren, Carole Hill of Gettysburg, Matthew Hill and wife Angela of Pittsburgh, Benjamin Hill and wife Erin of Indianapolis, Ind.; five great-grandchildren, A. Maison Hill, E. Marshall Hill, A. Charlotte Hill, Hanaleigh Hill, and Harrison Hill. She was predeceased by a brother, Sandy Childs. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 1096 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, by her pastor Rev. Steven Baker officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. There will be a viewing at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
