HANOVER Evelyn Louise Raubenstine, 81, entered into God's eternal care Friday, December 21, 2012, at her home with her loving family by her side. Evelyn was the loving wife of Gerald B. Raubenstine, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born February 19, 1931, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Espenita V. (Wentz) Gobrecht. Evelyn was a member of St. David's United Church of Christ, Hanover, as well as the church's New Venture Club. She volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary at both the Pleasant Hill and Friendship Fire Companies. Evelyn retired from the South Western Public School District after 25 years of service. She lived in the home she was born and raised in until 1998 when she and her husband moved in town. She enjoyed her family, reading God's word each day, and working in their yard until her health began to decline. In addition to her husband, Gerald, Evelyn is survived by three daughters, Sue Brumgard and husband, Dale, Kay Meredith and husband, Daniel, and Lou Musselman and husband, Philip; six grandchildren, Sarah Zumbrum and husband, Jeremy, Joshua Musselman and wife, Lindsey, Luke Brumgard and wife, Michelle, Aaron Meredith and wife, Jillian, Adam Meredith and wife, Danielle, and Andrea Meredith; seven great-grandchildren, Hattie and Jake Zumbrum, Leah and Zane Brumgard, and Teyla, Levi, and Corban Meredith; one brother, Harold Gobrecht; and one sister, Carolyn Wilson. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester Gobrecht, Russell Gobrecht, Gerald Wentz, and Warden Wentz; and one sister, Geneva Rohrbaugh. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Evelyn's life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at St. David's United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, with her pastor, the Rev. Scott A. Sager, officiating. A time to view and share memories with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Serving as casketbearers will be her grandchildren. Contributions in memory of Evelyn may be made to St. David's United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331; or the Visiting Nurse Association of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331. The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, has been entrusted by the family with the funeral arrangements.
