HANOVER Geneva E. Bortner, 90, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Hanover Hospital. Geneva was born November 1, 1921 in Berwick Twp., Adams Co, the daughter of the late William H. and Alice (Grimm) Bortner. Geneva was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Abbottstown, and AARP in Spring Grove. Geneva is survived by a daughter, Shirley M. Arnold of Hanover; a son, Ronald E. Bortner and his wife, Anita of Hanover; three granddaughters, Constance L. Hammond and her husband, Timothy of Hanover, Christina M. Arnold of York, and Gaila Hampsten and her husband, Dale of Okla.; a grandson, John W. Bortner and his wife. Shawndra of Okla.; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, 100 E. Water St, Abbottstown, with her pastor, the Rev. Shawn Berkebile officiating.
