Gloria Helen "Glo" Baumgardner Obituary
HANOVER Gloria Helen "Glo" Baumgardner, 81, entered into God's eternal care Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the Transitions Nursing Center, Gettysburg. Born December 10, 1932 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John and Lenora (Williams) Irrgang. Gloria was the loving wife of John David "Jack" Baumgardner, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Glo worked as a dental hygienist in her earlier years, then as a nursing assistant at the Brethren Home and Homewood. Before retiring, she worked as a private care duty nurse in the Hanover area. Glo loved spending time with her family, and was especially devoted to her loving grandchildren. Glo is survived by her daughters, Kathy J. O'Brien and Debbie A. Edwards, both of Hanover; five grandchildren, Rob, Erin, and Kara O'Brien, and James and Julie Edwards; one brother, John Irrgang of Lewistown; and one sister, Lenore Wagoner of Thompsontown. Following cremation, a Memorial Service to celebrate and remember Glo's life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, PA with the Rev. Judy Christmann officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends and share memories from 12 to p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Glo may be made to the of Greater Pennsylvania, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
