NEW OXFORD Homer Forbes, Jr., 51, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Jayne L. (Moore) Forbes, his wife of 26 years. Homer was born July 15, 1961, in Hanover, the son of Homer and Dixie (Hoff) Forbes, Sr. of Wellsville. Homer attended Harvest Chapel Church in Abbottstown, was a worship leader at several area churches, and was studying to become a Registered Nurse. He owned and operated The Hair Studio in New Oxford for 24 years, was employed by Genesis Healthcare in Gettysburg, and was a recording artist along with the Forbes family with Rebel Records in Virginia. In addition to his wife and parents, Homer is survived by a sister, Lori Slate of Wellsville; a brother, Jay Forbes of East Berlin; a sister, Lisa Roberts of Thomasville; a sister, Kelly Kroft of Thomasville; a brother, Dwayne Forbes of Spring Grove; his dog, Lilly; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Harvest Chapel, 6947 York Road, Abbottstown, with Pastor Don Wolabaugh officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover. A viewing will be on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Harvest Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Harvest Chapel; or to Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc., P.O.
