J. Nevin Myers Obituary
HANOVER J. Nevin Myers, 86, entered into God's eternal care, Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the Hanover Hospital. Nevin was the loving husband of Virginia M. (Pyles) Myers with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born September 25, 1927, in Abbottstown, the son of the late John Myers and Rhea (Fissel) Myers Sharrer. Mr. Myers was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Abbottstown, was a member of the New Oxford Social Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Nevin retired from Alwine Brick Company after 41 years of service as a Brick Craftsman. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country proudly during World War II. In addition to his wife, Nevin is survived by two daughters, Debra A. Britcher and husband Alan of Hanover, Lou Ann Hahn and husband Ronald of New Oxford; four grandchildren, Terry Hahn and wife, Kristin, Jennifer Polizzotto and husband, Bill, Lisa Rummel and husband Doug, Shawn Britcher and wife, Lori; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Rylan, Kaylee, Ian, and Brandon. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Myers and Morell Myers; and two sisters, Fern Rohrbaugh and Vivian Bortner. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Nevin's life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with his Pastor the Rev. Shawn M. Berkbile officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Abbottstown. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Nevin may be made to St, John's Lutheran Church, 100 Water St., Abbottstown, PA 17301.
