NEW FREEDOM John Michael "Mike" Little, 75, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at his home. He was the husband of Lynne Susan "Sue" (Martin) Little. Mike and Sue celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on July 10th. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012, from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom 17349. The Rev. Bernard Wamayose, A.J., will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Born March 27, 1937, in Hanover, he was a son of the late John Raymond and Vivian (Gobrecht) Little. Mike was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School in 1955. He then attended East Stroudsburg University. Mike retired from Property Management, Inc. of Lemoyne in 2001. He was previously employed for 18 years as a manager for Harrisburg East Mall and the West Shore Plaza. Mike taught adult education in both business and retail management at the York County Area Vocational Technical School during the 1970's. Mike was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church New Freedom where he was a cantor, a member of the Adult Choir, a member of Schola and the Daystar Folk Group. He was also an adorer with the church Corpus Christi Chapel. He was past president and secretary with the Vikings Athletic Association of York and a member of New Freedom V.F.W. Post 7012. Mike was an avid history book reader. He enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, Md., and loved to argue politics with his friends at the V.F.W. In addition to his wife Sue, he leaves a daughter, Valerie Michelle Little and her fiance', John Kenneth Clapham of St. Paul, Minn.; and many friends and extended family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, at the above noted address.
