LITTLESTOWN John Scott Raver, 62, passed away as a result of a tragic accident on Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Baltimore Shock Trauma Center. He was the loving husband of Susan B. Raver for 28 years. Born February 22, 1952, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late John Samuel Raver and Lois "Penny" (Gallagher) Raver of Frederick, Md. John was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover, and the United Methodist Men. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War. John was employed with The Brickman Group Limited, Urbana, Md., for the past 15 years. John was an active outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hiking, canoeing, and biking. He also loved gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to John's wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Michelle Stair and her husband, Scott of York Springs; two granddaughters, Carrie and Addison Stair; his sisters, Robin Marie Zuckerman of Germantown, Md., and Elizabeth "Kelly" Beller of Westport, Conn.; his father-in-law, Lloyd W. Bailey of Ulster; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Bailey of Troy, and Brian Bailey and his wife, Helen of Towanda; his sister-in-law, Pat Carr and her husband Jack of Stevensville; his very special friends, Frankie and Mike Crosby of Hanover; and many adoring nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Carrie Lynne Raver. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. Gregory A. Rapp officiating. A time to express condolences and share memories with the family will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
