PALMYRA Martin L. Menges, 77, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Irene A. Tice Menges, and on April 20, 2012, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Born in Iron Ridge, on August 18, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Katie Saltzsgaver Menges. In 2000, he retired from Hershey Foods where he had been an electrician for 42 years. He served in the U.S. Army and attended Lebanon God's Missionary Church. Martin enjoyed working hard and helping others. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dwayne and companion, Stacy Dietrich of Ephrata; daughters, Brenda, wife of Charles Bouquardez of Woodbridge, Va., and Cheryl, wife of Edward Guy of Gettysburg; brothers, Clair Menges of Hanover and Robert Menges of New Oxford; and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael Bouquardez, Megan Guy, Grayson and Violet Menges, and Kurstin Dietrich. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Burnell Menges; and his sister, Emma Jane Zumbrum. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 5, at 11 a.m. from the Lebanon God's Missionary Church, 2127 Hill St., Lebanon, 17046. Interment will be at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church's Ministerial Scholarship Fund.
