HANOVER Michael Joseph Brennan, Sr., 59, entered into God's eternal care Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the York Hospital. Michael was the loving husband of Gloria-Jean (Lombardi) Brennan, with whom he would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on April 12, 2013. Born March 17, 1954, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Larry Brennan and Ellen Jane (Nalbach) Brennan. Michael was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover. Michael was self-employed as an artist of steel polishing, and owned Metal-Brite for over 20 years. Michael was a die-hard member of the Republican Party. He enjoyed his family and coin and stamp collecting, loved trains, enjoyed fishing, and was also an extreme animal lover. Michael is survived by his children, Michael Brennan, Jr., Amy Plummer, and Erin Burdis, all of Hanover; his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pop-Pop", Caitlyn, Nicholas, Madison, and Connor Brennan, Ashley Plummer, and Blanche and Morgan Burdis; two brothers, Kenneth Gogan of New Hampshire and Bruce Robert Gogan of Georgia; his mother-in-law, Dolores Latham; and his beloved dog, Maggie-Mae. Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Brennan, and a sister, Susie Richardson. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. with Father James E. Lease as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Vincent's Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Michael's memory to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540; or to the SPCA of York County, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
