HANOVER Nancy Jane Bankert, 78, passed peacefully on November 12, 2013, at Hanover Hall. She was the loving wife of Richard Swartz Bankert, Hanover. Together they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on November 26. Born August 12, 1935, in Hanover, Nancy was the daughter of the late Ira L. and Laura J. (Mehring) Geiselman. Mrs. Bankert was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover and was a graduate of Eichelberger High School class of 1953. Nancy was also a past member of the Hanover Area Jaycees. Mrs. Bankert worked at her family owned business, Royale Dairy and later for Rutter's Dairy for more than forty years prior to her retirement. In addition to her husband Richard, Nancy is survived by three children, Debra B. Fake and her husband Michael, Hanover, Thomas A. Bankert and his wife Tammy, Hanover and Richard G. Bankert and his wife Jackie of Pawleys Island, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Amber McMillion and her husband Robert, Julia Fake, Tessa Bankert, Christopher Fake and his wife Katie, Elizabeth Bankert, Laura Bankert and Sarah Bankert; and three great-grandchildren Ayden McMillion, Blake McMillion and Kolin McMillion and her mother-in-law, Ruth M. Bankert, Hanover. Mrs. Bankert was predeceased by two brothers, William A. Geiselman and Ira L. Geiselman, II. A service to celebrate the life of Nancy Bankert will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover with Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
