SEVERNA PARK, MD Nelda K. Biasi, 96, formerly of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Heartlands Nursing Home, Severna Park, Md. Nelda was the loving wife of Irvin E. Biasi, who died in 2005. Born October 19, 1916, in Kerens, W.Va., Nelda was the daughter of the late Squire D. and Chloe D. (Stout) Kalar. Nelda was a graduate of The University of Maryland School of Nursing in 1938. She then practiced nursing at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel University) while pursuing her degree. She graduated in 1941 with a B.S. in Education. She taught in the Baltimore Public School System for 30 years until her retirement in 1973. Nelda enjoyed reading, traveling and most of all golf. She was an avid golfer and played into her nineties. She was the first woman to ever hit a hole-in-one in 1964 at the Hanover Country Club where she was a member. Nelda is survived by her niece, Barbara K. Jett and husband, R. Samuel Jett of Sherwood Forest, Md., as well as many other nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Nelda's life will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. Timothy J. Kielley officiating. Burial will be in Krieder's Church Cemetery, Westminster, Md. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
