HANOVER Norma L. Poland, 80, formerly of Reisterstown, Md., died on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Gettysburg. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Marshall William Poland, in 2011. Born August 26, 1931, in Lonaconing, Md., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Stella (Gallagher) Walters. Norma was a bookkeeper in the banking industry and worked for Commercial Credit in Baltimore, Md. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart in Glyndon, Md., and Annunciation in McSherrystown. Surviving are a son, Thomas M. Poland and wife, Mary of Westminster, Md.; daughter, Donna L. Troyer and husband, Calvin of Hanover; grandchildren, Eric K. Poland, Robin N. Peterman, and Chad M. Troyer; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Johnson of Cumberland, Md. A Prayer Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with the Rev. Lawrence Sherdel officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville, Md. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
