HANOVER Patsy L. Bankert, 83, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013, at home. She was the loving wife of John A. Bankert, her husband of 55 years, who passed away on April 17, 2009. Born February 28, 1929, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Grace (Houck) Reese. Patsy was a graduate of Eichelberger H.S. class of 1947 and was a member of the National A.A.R.P. She enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, Nev., and spending her mornings at McDonalds with the "old fogies". She is survived by her children, Jan A. Bankert and partner, Kevin Walker of York, Jay A. Bankert and wife, Kathy of York, Jill A. Santiago of Littlestown, and Jack A. Bankert and wife, Cindy of New Oxford; four grandchildren, Amy Murren and husband, Ben, Jennifer Ishler and husband, David, Nathan Santiago, and Nicole Bankert; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Sierra Ishler. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12 noon at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with William Bankert officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Serving as pallbearers will be Jan Bankert, Jay Bankert, Jack Bankert, Ben Murren, Kevin Walker, and Nathan Santiago.
