GLENVILLE Ray E. Mummert, 52, went home to the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Alice G. (Dahler) Mummert for 15 years. Born June 13, 1960, in Hanover, he was a son of the late Willis G. and Nettie E. (Shellenberger) Mummert. Ray was a member of Harvest Time Temple, Hanover. He was employed for the past 23 years with Utz Quality Foods and previously worked at Snyder's of Hanover and Hanover Shoe. He enjoyed going to the family cabin where he spent time hunting and four wheeling. Ray had a very big heart and was a very giving person. He would often help many people in a variety of ways, never expecting anything in return. In addition to his wife Alice, his survivors include a son, Nathanial J. Mummert and his wife, Carmen, Marietta; and a granddaughter, McKayla A. Mummert; four siblings, Rev. Fred Mummert and his wife, Margie, Hanover, Vonnie Louey and her husband, Richard, Spring Grove, John Mummert, Hanover, and Earl Mummert and his wife, Shirley, Glenville; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Mummert, Glenville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Mummert. A service to celebrate the life of Ray E. Mummert will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Harvest Time Temple, 700 Black Rock Rd., Hanover with his brother, the Rev. Fred Mummert, officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. also at the church and again on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
