SPRING GROVE Roberto Gonzalez, Sr., 67, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Kathy L. (Diehl) Gonzalez. Born December 19, 1945, in Mission, Texas, Roberto was a son of the late Guadelupe and Carmen (Deleon) Gonzalez. Roberto enjoyed rodeos, fishing, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and his dogs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Roberto Gonzalez, Jr. of Hanover, Shawn G. Gonzalez of Hanover, and Ricardo A. Gonzalez of McSherrystown; three daughters, Shalena M. Gonzalez-Newman and husband, Michael of Hanover, Chrystal M. Yingling and husband, Frank of York, and Angela N. Price and husband, Joseph, Jr. of York; five sisters, Lydia Brinston, Mary Herlein, Vicky Miranda, Paula Garcia, and Janie Zarhinger; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Roberto was preceded in death by a brother, Fidel Gonzalez. A service to celebrate the life of Roberto will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Pastor Jason Leader officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. A committal of ashes will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the Jefferson Cemetery, Codorus.
