SPRING GROVE Ronald F. Myrick, 67, 6390 Sycamore Drive, Spring Grove, died suddenly, Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at his home. Ron is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet Adlesberger Myrick. He was born October 25, 1946, in Carlisle, the son of the late Charles and Maye Holt Myrick. Ron was a graduate of Carlisle High School and later served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969 during the Vietnam War, stationed in Korea, Germany, and Vietnam. For over 20 years he was employed at R.H. Sheppard in Hanover until his retirement in 2013. Ron loved being with his kids and playing with his grandkids. He loved working outside and walking around his woods with his side-kick, Rowdy. He also enjoyed taking his grandkids for a walk down the long lane and teaching them about nature. He was a member of the American Legion. In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by a daughter, Karen Ford and her husband, Gregg of Singapore; a son, Jeff Myrick and his wife, Kristen of Perkasie; grandchildren, Alex, Samantha, Melissa, Ethan, and Logan; a brother, Curt Myrick and his wife, Priscilla of Carlisle; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Betty Lou Sterner and Maye Haines; and a brother, Charles Myrick. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 20, at 2 p.m. from the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Interment will be in McKnightstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
