JEFFERSON Ruth E. (Zech) Edris, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 17, 2013, at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy, with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Paul R. Edris, who passed away in 1994. Together they shared over 43 years of marriage. Ruth was born in York on August 31, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Victor Zech and the late Elda (Klinedinst) Zech. She graduated from Codorus Township High School class of 1947 and graduated from Thompson Business School in York. She worked as a secretary for P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove and for her husband Paul R. Edris, General Contractor. She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Jefferson, where she taught Sunday School, sang on the choir and was a member of the women's group. She was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader and was also a longtime member of the Jefferson Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth loved music and enjoyed playing piano for her family and at church. She is survived by her son, David Edris and wife Paula of Dover; her daughters, Lorraine Knaub and husband James of Spring Grove, and Rose Carlisle and husband Kieran of Spring Grove. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Angela A. Eveler, Maria Kann and husband David, James Knaub III and wife Megan, Kira, Derek and Marissa Carlisle; and two great-grandchildren Logan and Jacob Knaub. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Zech, and her sister, Catherine Joseph. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 47 Hanover St., Codorus, with the Rev. Martin Bovee officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband following the service at Jefferson Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N Main St., Spring Grove, and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
