HANOVER Ruth Miller Dutterer, 91, formerly of Finksburg, Md., died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Homewood at Plum Creek Healthcare Center. Born October 25, 1920, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Cora Stultz Miller. She was raised by her great-aunt and uncle, Alice and Charles Heltebridle. She was the wife of the late Merwyn D. Dutterer, her husband of nearly 70 years, who died December 5, 2010. She was a clerk for the Carroll County Commissioners office retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary's United Church of Christ in Silver Run for over 55 years where she served on several committees. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Door to Virtue Lodge #94 and served as worthy matron. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society, the Carroll County Bureau of Aging and the Carroll County Farm Museum. She enjoyed the beach, traveling, playing cards, attending the activities of her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her monthly lunches with "the girls," Peggy, Nancy, and Effie and her visits with the "other Brenda." Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Sandy Dutterer of Mt. Airy, Md.; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Rick Baker of Taylorsville, Md.; grandchildren; Dan Dutterer, Debbie Benfield and husband Brian, Matt deWitt and wife Melissa, Gretchen Laufer and husband Evan, Scott Baker and wife Kirby, and Zachary Baker and fiance'e, Brittany Woodfield; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mary Kathryn Dutterer and Frances Dutterer and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, Md., where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's United Church of Christ, 1441 E. Mayberry Rd., Westminster, Md., with the Rev. Dr. Richard Scott officiating.
