TANEYTOWN, MD Mrs. Shirley M. Warehime, 76, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, after an extended illness with cancer. Born December 25, 1935, in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Naomi Erb Miller. She was the wife for more than 33 years of John C. Warehime who died in 1986. Shirley worked at English American Manufacturing for 35 years prior to retirement. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, was very independent, making repairs around the house by herself. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed spending time with all of her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Connie Welsh of Keymar; Gale Freyman and husband Irvin of Westminster; a granddaughter, Dawn Morrell and companion Chris Murphy of North Carolina; a grandson, Tony Freyman and fiancee, Brittany Norris of Manchester; great grandson, Griffin Turner of Florida and great granddaughter, Ryleigh Freyman of Manchester; two sisters, Nancy Horick and Gloria Kontz of Hanover; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Jr., Larry and Theresa Miller; Robert and Sandi Miller, all of Westminster and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Roy "Sonny" Miller; sisters, Linda Knight and Patricia Crandell and son-in-law, Brett Welsh. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, with Rev. James Benedict, pastor of Union Bridge Church of the Brethren, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Eldersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
