HAMPSTEAD, MD Spencer Pierce Bauerlien, 86, died Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, Md. He was the husband of Laura Alberta Cole Bauerlien, who died January 16, 2007. Born August 12, 1925, in Baltimore County, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Edward Henry and Florence Elizabeth Spencer Bauerlien. Mr. Bauerlien was a retired Cabinet Maker for Reisterstown Lumber Co., where he worked for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was a member of the Westminster Moose and the North Carroll Senior Center. He attended Christ Lutheran Church in Trenton, Md. He is survived by his children, Nina Brafford and husband, Richard of Manchester, Md., Andrew Bauerlien and partner, Kenneth Kocher of Westminster, Md., and Susan Delaney and husband, Bruce of Hanover; granddaughters, Deborah Gray, Julie Brafford, Jennifer Hann, and Kristen Learn; sister, Nellie Surratt of Stewartstown; brother, Robert Bauerlein; four great-grandchildren; and special friend, Roe Talbert of Hampstead, Md. He was predeceased by a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, Md., on Tuesday at 12 noon with the Rev. Michael Adams officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, Md. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
