HANOVER Earl S. Geeting, 94, passed peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Hanover Hall. He was the loving husband of Pearl J. (Lemmon) Geeting for 67 years. Born October 6, 1919, in Carroll Co., Md., he was a son of the late Samuel and Sadie (Mathias) Geeting. Earl was a member of St. David's United Church of Christ, Hanover. After working on the family farm until age 26, Earl was employed for a number of years with Servamation, Hanover, and later with Utz Quality Foods until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed bowling and tending to his vegetable garden. Additional survivors include Earl's son, Douglas E. Geeting and his wife, Michele of Hanover; a grandson, Joseph Nathan Geeting and his wife, Trista of York; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Aaron Geeting. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clair Geeting. A service to celebrate the life of Earl S. Geeting will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Pastor Scott A. Sager officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
