HANOVER Esther V. Rodgers, 75, entered into God's eternal care, Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, Hanover. Born September 15, 1938, in Carroll County, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Viola (Hull) Good. Esther was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Hanover, the AMVETS Post #22 Hanover, and the Hanover Moose Lodge #227, Hanover. Esther was a homemaker. She also worked at the Hanover Hospital as an OR Aide and in Daycare at Calvary Bible Church. In her free time, Esther enjoyed gardening, crocheting, flowers, fishing, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther is survived by five children, Michael A. Rodgers and his wife Beverly of East Berlin, Douglas M. Rodgers and his wife Kathy of East Berlin, James A. Rodgers of Hanover, Karen A. Martus and her husband Gregory of Lancaster, and Sharon L. Harris of East Berlin; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Good of Dillsburg; and three sisters, Ruth Kreitz of Irishtown, Anna Epley of Spring Grove, and Gladys Baker of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Plunkert. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Ave., Hanover, with her Pastor Michael Osladil officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be: Michael Rodgers, Douglas Rodgers, James Rodgers, Gregory Martus, Jason Rodgers, and Adam Mummert. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Esther may be made to Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Ave., Hanover, PA 17331; or the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, 267 Frederick St., Hanover, PA 17331.
