NEW OXFORD Paul A. Strausbaugh, 91, passed away on March 19, 2014, at Cross Keys Village at the Brethren Home Community. He was the loving husband of the late Mary L. (Miller) Strausbaugh, who passed away in 2009. Paul was born in N. Codorus Township on May 20, 1922, and was the son of the late Allen J. and Bertha (Dubs) Strausbaugh. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the Normandy Invasion during WWII and was honorably discharged. He worked at P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove for over 30 1/2 years and retired in 1984. He was a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren and was also a member of the Quarter Century Club at P.H. Glatfelter. He is survived by his sons, Paul Strausbaugh and his wife Orpha of Manheim and Terry Strausbaugh and his wife Dot of Abbottstown; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Fred Strausbaugh and his sister, Mary Runk. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 9002 Orchard Road, Spring Grove, with Elders D. Fred Miller and Merle Bievenour officiating . The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family Services are under the direction of Irwin-Beck Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., of Spring Grove.
