HANOVER Martin L. Saltzgiver, 66, entered into God's eternal care Thursday, March 20, 2014, at home with his loving family by his side. Martin was the loving husband of Shelley L. (Miller) Saltzgiver, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born August 27, 1947, in Hanover, he was the son of Charles W. and Anna P. (Hyde) Saltzgiver. Martin graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. Martin was a maintenance mechanic with SKF of Hanover for over 38 years before retiring in 2008. Martin was a member of St. Bartholomew's United Church (ELCA), Hanover. Martin is survived by two sons, Shaun M. Saltzgiver and his wife, Stacey of Hanover, and Jamie M. Saltzgiver of Hanover; one granddaughter, Mariah L. Saltzgiver; two brothers, David R. Saltzgiver of Dallastown and Raymond E. Saltzgiver of Spring Grove; and one sister, Carolyn E. Shamer of Owings Mills, Md. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Martin's name to The Disabled American Vets, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076; The Salvation Army, 50 E. King St., York, PA 17404; or to St. Bartholomew's United Church (ELCA), 1204 Grand Valley Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
