DOVER Dorothy R. Sterner, 95, entered into rest at 1:05 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late Dale H. Sterner. Born August 30, 1918, in East Berlin, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Lucy (Stine) Linebaugh. Dorothy was a pottery trimmer at Pfaltzgraff and previously worked as a seamstress for Danskin. She also helped her husband on the family farm. Dorothy was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Dover and Heritage Senior Center. Dorothy is survived by three children, Faye M. Elicker and husband, Russ, Carolyn I. Altland, and Robert E. Sterner and wife, Connie, all of Dover; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and three brothers, Merle Linebaugh of Gettysburg, Earl Linebaugh of Abbottstown, and Glenn Linebaugh of Dover. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothy's funeral at 10 a.m. and the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Salem U.C.C., 2705 W. Canal Road, Dover. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Abbottstown. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Ruthann Seibert. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is in charge of arrangements.
