NEW OXFORD Douglas "Doug" N. Zumbrum, 60, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Goshorn) Zumbrum, his wife of 39 years. Doug was born October 16, 1953, in Hanover, the son of the late Norman S. and June (Lawson) Zumbrum. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Oxford, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 871 Hanover, and a member of the New Oxford Social Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming at the Brethren Home pool, water gardening, watching high school football and wrestling, and enjoyed being a Civil War buff. In addition to his wife Nancy, Doug is survived by a son, Michael P. Zumbrum and his wife Sabrina of Abbottstown; a daughter, Katie E. Zumbrum of New Oxford; one grandson, Brady M. Zumbrum of Abbottstown; a brother, David C. Zumbrum of York; a sister, Deborah J. Laughman of York; and several aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, with the Rev. Steven W Fauser as Celebrant. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Christian Wake Service at 8 p.m. Memorials may be sent to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, PA 17350; or to the American Heart Assocation, 417 Phoenix Drive, Chambersburg, PA. 17201.
